Here is my Top 10 travel apps that I regularly use on my travels.
There are in no particular order, just know that I use them all for different reasons.
Disclaimer : I am not paid to talk about them, in case you are wondering 🙂
With over 29 millions of accommodations available worldwide, Booking.com is the place to go if you want to book an accomodation.
But I never book my accomodation on their website, because they are taking a comission, and it is always more expensive to book with them.
I only use this powerful tool to search for hotels or hostels, and then either I ring the place, or I book directly through their direct website (which is cheaper).
If you want to book an hostel, I strongly recommend using Hostelworld.
Their website is so easy to use 🙂
You also can see verified reviews of fellow travellers, we are a community after all !
Looking for flight tickets / car rentals / hotels ?
Look no further, Skyscanner is the place to go !
I like the “Everywhere” option, if you are looking for inspiration 🙂 Give it a try !
You know, when you take a taxi, you don’t really know how much you will end up paying your fare.
Then comes UBER.
After downloading the app, create a free account, enter your credit card details (you won’t pay the driver directly), and then turn on the gps on your phone, and you are all set ! Enter your destination, you can immediately see the price of your fare, see when your UBER will be there, and click enter ! So easy, and way cheaper than your taxi 🙂
“Navigate your world faster and easier with Google Maps.”
The best app when you are looking for directions, whether you are walking, driving or taking public transport.
You can also download your favorite maps offline (warning : the file might be heavy!)
Easy to use, with an offline option (believe me, you won’t have wifi or data everywhere in the world !), Google Translate will be your best friend on the road 🙂
Easy Currency Converter
(or any other currency converter)
I would recommend you downloading any currency converter app, I really like this one. It’s really easy to use, and does the job nice and fast.
I always like to know how much my home currency is worth in the country I’m in 🙂
I always take pictures on the road, have a look on my Instagram account. But sometimes, they don’t look exactly as I want them to be. That’s when Snapseed comes in handy. Just upload your picture, and in a few seconds, you can change the brightness, contrast, saturation, ambiance, highlights.. I swear, your pictures will look perfect !
Keep in touch
Keeping touch in your friends and family has never been easier !
Download Whatsapp, enter your phone number and you are all set !
Warning : this app requires Wifi to work 🙂
When you are on the road, the easiest way to connect with fellow travellers, is for me, to exchange via facebook messenger. You can talk with everyone on Facebook, even if you are not “friends”, which makes exchanging with people from all over the world so easy. Try following some travel groups 🙂
